As of May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to all EU organizations. The whole EU will then apply the same privacy laws. If your organization processes personal data (and who does not?) then this law applies to you. This gives you more responsibilities (eg. to keep this personal information safe and secure). If you save data that goes beyond "normal" personal information, such as financial or medical data, you must be able to prove that you have done everything in your power to protect this data. The law is clear that it is your responsibility to protect your customer’s data and that you will be financially penalized if you do not. However it does not specify exactly how you must do this. We can help...
We can help you to better protect your data. For example, we can encrypt database applications and / or install Two-Factor Authentication in your systems.
During the collaboration with us things will also change. In addition to a contract, we will use a processor agreement that states who is responsible for the data in your applications we build. We also make agreements for accessing the data in your system and, for example, when we may or may not use a copy for testing.
